FAQ

What is this Cat Wine and Dog Wine made of?
All of our cat wine products have a proprietary blend that includes all-natural organically grown catnip, fresh beets and natural preservatives to help hold the taste and color. We believe in natural ingredients for our particularly classy feline friends.

Is there Alcohol in this Cat Wine and Dog Wine?
No. Cat's don't really have a positive taste for alcohol, mainly because they tend to make bad decisions and do things they don't necessarily remember the next morning. Unlike their humans, of course. On the flip side, Dog's would probably try to out-drink their human, leading to what we would consider to be a disaster.

Will my cat or dog like this?
Let's be honest. Cat's are finicky and tend to get to know things (and humans) on their own terms. According to science (yes, science), only about 65% of cats have a sensitivity to the smell of catnip so it's very possible that they won't be immediately drawn to the drink. However, we have used tasty beets in our recipe that tend to draw more cats in for a yummy drink. We suggest serving the wine room-temperature as cats tend to not like cold beverages. Dogs on the other hand are less finicky but from our experience, tend to have a favorite variety (red vs. white).

What will this do to my cat or dog?
Well, depending on how much they drink - the effects will vary. When cats smell catnip, they tend to get funny, move around and play a lot. The exact opposite occurs when they ingest catnip. They normally will become more "mellowed" out when they drink the wine so it might actually help for those restless nights. As for dogs, most of our blends are designed to mellow out your pup to the extent similar to sleepy time tea. Is your dog ready for a night cap?

Can my dog drink the cat wine and vice versa?
We don't see why not! Let Mr. Snuggles drink away. He will likely enjoy it much more quickly than your finicky furball. As for cats, it's probably likely that they won't enjoy the dog wines, but who knows - maybe you will catch your kitty trying on your dog's pants?

My little brother just drank the bottle. Should I call a doctor?!
Our wine is made with all natural ingredients that are beneficial to both cats and humans. While we state that the product is not intended for humans, fear not, this is simply a regulatory requirement. Catnip and all of our other herbs are used in tea products and generally create a sleepy feeling among cats, dogs and humans. Overall, no need to panic!

What is the shelf-life of the wine?
We use natural sea salt and ascorbic acid (vitamin c) in our beverages; therefore, the products should hold out well. (Note that salt is the oldest and truest preservative). We still suggest storing your bottle in a cool, dry, dark place for up to 12 months. Once opened, refrigerate the bottle for up to an additional 30 days, but use discretion. If it doesn't look like something you would drink, don't give it to your cat. In some blends, you may find a small amount of sediment in the bottom of the bottles for added flavor, so if you see something floating around, it's totally fine. Feel free to shake the bottle to distribute it around, or leave it in the bottom.

My bottle is brown, what happened?
As with most foods, aging can occur much faster when left in sunlight and oxygen. This means the beets have oxidized and the color has faded. The product should still be safe, but we would recommend pitching it at this point. Who wants to drink brown wine?
